Postpartum Doula

Many people refer to the postpartum period as “The Fourth Trimester”.

Your baby still thinks that he is part of your body, quality sleep is fleeting, and many parents feel they are in “survival mode”. No matter whether you’re a first time mama or a seasoned mama, this season of life can be beautifully overwhelming.

Amy, our postpartum doula, can be an answer to prayer. She brings gentle guidance, support, and education into your home, all while focusing on mama’s physical recovery and emotional health, baby’s transition into the world and his place in the home, and dad’s confidence in his role of supporting these things.

How we support you

These days, it’s not uncommon for well-meaning family and friends to show up at your door - only to ask to hold the new baby so that you can get housework done and entertain. Amy’s goal is to encourage bonding time between you and your baby. No matter whether your partner has returned to work yet or not, she will offer solid support in the first weeks postpartum as you transition to your “new normal”.

“Mothers need just as much attention as a newborn because they too have just been born.”

Meet Your Doula

Amy offers daytime and nighttime postpartum doula support.

During the day, her focus will be on caring for your home, your baby, and your mental and physical rest. At night, her focus will be on supporting your sleep, as well as your baby’s. If you are breastfeeding, she can offer guidance on prioritizing your sleep while maintaining and supporting the breastfeeding bond.
